Concordia Lutheran College
Ann Arbor, Michigan
OPUS II, 1977

One of the earliest organbuilding projects for Schneider Pipe Organs, Inc. was this Cabinet organ. It was designed to be taken apart at Impost level in order to be transported for college choir tours. The upper half housed the keyboard and action, slider windchest and treble pipework while the lower half housed the bottom octave of wood pipes laid horizontally of the 8' stop and the Electro-Pneumatic Chest action for the basses (12 pipes each) of both the 8' and 4' stops. The 4' Stop was mounted in Prestant position. The six largest pipes of the facade were removable for transport and the oversized bench was actually a fitted pipe storage box for them, thus the entire instrument could be transported in three pieces manageable by two people.

The stoplist:

8' Flūte ą Chemineé

4' Flūte ą Pointé

Sadly: this instrument has been long since sold by the college due to budget concerns and its location or status of extantness at this time is unknown.

SOLI DEO GLORIA!
